Families who build wealth rarely lose it to bad investments. They lose it to taxes, poor structure, and an unprepared next generation.
Deemed disposition. At death, capital assets are generally treated as sold — accrued gains may be taxed on the final return, even though nothing was actually sold.
Registered accounts. RRSPs and RRIFs are generally fully taxable at death, unless rolled over to a surviving spouse.
Private corporations. Shares of private corporations can trigger substantial tax at the estate level.
Forced sales. Without a plan, families may be forced to sell the business or property just to pay the tax bill.
Beyond taxes. Wealth without structure and family education rarely survives the second generation.
"None of this is inevitable. It's simply what happens without a strategy — and a coach."
Understanding where tax quietly erodes your wealth — during accumulation, in your corporation, and at death — and the planning concepts affluent families use to reduce it.
How participating whole life insurance works as an asset class: tax-advantaged growth within limits set by the Income Tax Act, stable long-term values, and efficient transfer to the next generation. What it costs, who it fits, and who it doesn't.
Structuring ownership of your assets — personal, corporate, real estate — so your estate transfers according to your intentions, with liquidity to cover tax so heirs inherit assets, not bills.
How wills and trusts control and protect family wealth: guarding against divorce and creditor claims, providing for children on your terms, and keeping wealth inside the bloodline. Education and strategy only — documents are prepared by your lawyer, and I work alongside them.
Every strategy has trade-offs, costs, and eligibility requirements. My role as your coach is to make sure you understand them completely before you decide anything.
A private conversation about your balance sheet, corporate structure, family, and what you want your wealth to do after you.
I map your situation, then teach you — in plain language — the strategies relevant to you, including what they cost and where they don't fit.
You receive recommendations in writing, with the reasoning. I coordinate with your accountant and lawyer so every professional is aligned.
Annual reviews as tax rules, business value, and family circumstances evolve — and guidance for preparing the next generation.
Boota Sidhu is a wealth coach and educator focused on tax, estate, and legacy strategies for business owners and affluent families. Based in Surrey, he works with families across British Columbia — many of them in BC's South Asian business community, where first-generation wealth is now becoming multi-generational.
His conviction is simple: wealth is built in one generation and lost by the third — unless the family learns how to keep it. That learning is what he teaches. Sessions are held in Punjabi or English, in plain language, with every concept explained until it's fully understood.
Boota works alongside your accountant and legal counsel, not around them. Education comes first; any product recommendation is a separate, documented step that follows a personalized needs analysis and full written disclosure.

Yes. The initial consultation is $250 (plus applicable taxes) and covers education, analysis of your situation, and strategy coordination. The fee is payable regardless of whether you purchase any product, and payment creates no obligation to purchase anything. If you choose to implement a strategy involving an insurance product, I am also compensated by commission from the product provider. Both the fee and any commission are disclosed to you in writing before you commit to anything.
The consultation does not include legal or tax advice, and no legal or tax documents are prepared. Wills, trusts, and tax filings remain the work of your own lawyer and accountant, with whom I coordinate.
No. I provide education and strategy coaching. Specific tax and legal questions belong with your accountant and lawyer — and I encourage, and will join, those conversations.
No — those are legal documents prepared by your lawyer. My role is to help you understand the strategies and arrive at your lawyer's office knowing exactly what you want and why.
My coaching is designed for high-net-worth families and incorporated business owners who have built meaningful wealth — and now want to protect it, grow it tax-efficiently, and pass it on with intention. If preserving what you've built for the next generation matters to you, we should talk. A brief conversation will tell us quickly whether it's a fit.
